Reset to Learn Well💟.

Asslamu aliakum,

And good morning to you!

As I am currently on holiday, this will be a short read!

It is all about a simple yet vital lessons we should all learn.

Also, I shall include some cute pics from my holiday!!

Being a good learner means setting aside your ego and being open to feedback on your mistakes.

I’ve noticed this in myself while learning Arabic.

My vocabulary memorization and writing skills are pretty solid, but I sometimes struggle with reading certain words.

For example, I often mix up between fatha and kasra.

When my teacher pointed this out on Tuesday, I initially felt a bit deflated, like I wasn’t doing well enough.

Then, I was actually surprisingly quick to realise that it was my ego getting in the way.

But the way she addressed it was incredibly helpful.

She praised me for being a quick learner but also highlighted the need to improve my reading skills.

It’s important to allow ourselves to be good learners by embracing our mistakes.

Take the time to actually make those mistakes and learn from them.

After all, mistakes are inevitable, so don’t be too hard on yourself when they happen.
